How it works
Nippers is open to kids of all abilities aged 5 to 13, with no prior experience needed. Sessions run weekly from 15 November 2024 to 4 April 2025 at St. Kilda Beach, led by experienced instructors who provide all the necessary equipment. It’s a fun, safe, and structured way for kids to learn beach safety, build confidence, and enjoy the ocean.
Parents can get involved as well! Many of our Age Group Managers are parents who love supporting their kids while being part of the action.
Prerequisites
All adult members must hold a Working With Children Check
To ensure a safe environment for all, adult memberships cannot be processed without a Working With Children Check (WWCC). If you’re over 18 and would like to patrol or participate as an Age Group Manager, you must hold a valid WWCC.
It’s quick, free and easy to apply online – taking only about 15 minutes to complete.
Nipper's membership
Nippers is a family-first membership! Kids cannot enrol individually; they must join as part of a family membership. This option lets the whole family get involved in club events, access facilities, and enjoy discounted function room hire.
Family + Nipper
Starting at $225 AUD*
Includes:
- Family membership $100 AUD
- Participation fees $75 AUD (per kid)
- Uniform (rashie & age cap) worth $50
Note: Fees are annual, covering the season from November to June.
A membership runs on a financial year from July 1 to June 30, so renewals are due each November.
